Print Production Techniques- Screen Printing

Project Brief
The focus of the project centered around the exploration of diverse printing methods, leading me to discover a range of techniques such as Offset printing, Letterpress printing, Lithograph printing, and more. Among these, it was screen printing that captivated me the most, prompting me to select it as my primary theme.
As a result, my project culminated in the creation of an A5-sized museum brochure dedicated to the art of screen printing. The brochure serves as a comprehensive guide, providing readers with essential information about the process, methods, and variations of screen printing. Additionally, it showcases notable works by renowned artists in the field, offering a glimpse into the immense creative possibilities this technique enables.
To complement the brochure, I also produced a merchandise item—an assortment of screen-printed brown paper bags. These bags not only serve as practical and eco-friendly items but also serve as tangible examples of the unique aesthetic and versatility that screen printing can bring to everyday objects.
The Booklet
The color theme that run through the booklet is teal blue and beige. The two colors really compliment each other. The screen print done on the merchandise also uses the teal blue color same as the front page of the booklet.
The fonts that I have chosen are Century gothic Which is San Serif for headings(size 25) and Garamond which is serif for the body(size 12).
A a - Century Gothic
A a - Garamond
The Paper chosen to print on is a 305 GSM card paper. I chose this paper since I wanted to explore a thicker paper for my brochure. The print turned out to be very clear except the background beige color did not stand out as expected. Here, I learned that it is important to provide the printer with the color swatches as needed.
